Is the Dead Frequency (0.0 MHz) movie review banned for being too bad?

2019 has passed half and we have been enjoying a lot of blockbuster action movies, superheroes. Besides, it is also indispensable for horror movies - a strange dish in a movie party. Although it is not the Halloween season, the producers have released a series of scary works to entertain audiences such as The Escape Room, Us, The Curse of La Llorona, ... However, from the beginning of the year until now, there are still countless names have been flying in color after the censorship snap, including St. Agatha, Pet Sematary, Brightburn and, most recently, the horror film of the land of kimchi - Movie Dead Frequency (0.0 MHz).

The movie Dead Frequency (0.0 MHz) was inspired by the horror webtoon of the same name by artist Jang Jak. Anyone who wants to read can search on google with the keyword Webtoon Frequency of Death, I have only read the first few chapters. The film is a ghost hunt by a group of young people in the club to learn about mysterious events to verify a scientific research: When the human brain waves reach the frequency of 0.0 MHz, it is time Devilish points appear and we can see the spirits. But from then on, they paid the price when a series of strange things happened to the members.

Possessing somewhat new content, right from the time it appeared, Frequency of Death had won the attention of the audience, including me. And then, the film was banned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to push the curiosity, eagerness of everyone higher than ever. Because the movie must be scary to be censored like that. But after patiently watching all the movies, I suddenly realized that maybe the real reason that "Frequency of Death" was banned was because it was too ... bad.

Screenwriters simply let each one fall because they were "played by a ghost" but also failed to make a connection in the plot when the film had too many mysterious details. When So Hee and Sang Yeob were lying in the room, why did an old lady (I didn't know it was So Hee's grandmother until the end of the movie) covered her friend's hand? After that experiment, Yoon Jung was followed by a ghost since he was in a deserted house. But why was Han Seok still struggling in the morning when he was wrapped around by a ghost's hair when he kissed Yoon Jung in his hospital bed that night he was found dead in the pool? Teleportation?

Another point of turning the 0.0 '' 102 'time into an unforgettable experience comes from the acting of the characters. In the webtoon, So Hee is described as "having sad eyes, very pretty but very quiet". I'm not sure how director Yoo Sun Dong wants to build a So Hee in his movie, like the original and a bit more cold-hearted or somewhat pretending to be bored? If it is the latter, then Eun Ji is really successful. She is really pretty, but she always seems to be lazy in the movies like people with severe sleep deprivation and acting is like returning a song. Just watching it makes me tired. Fortunately, the last few minutes of the film is a bit of vitality. So Hee was introduced as the main character, being the only one to appear on the poster but actually has no outstanding role in the Yesmovies. Moreover, the script is already poor so actors don't need to act much out of fear.

0.0 MHz has a score of 5/10 on IMDb. With an open ending as we have seen, does not exclude the possibility that the film will have a second season and I only hope the sequel (if any) will not fall into disaster like its senior.

Review Film Dead Frequency - 0.0 MHz possesses a great advantage when based on the principle that the webtoon is quite famous but does not know how to exploit properly, in the end is no different from a dish that is awkwardly processed making people have to eat.
